Mrs. Yvonne P. Lovett, 77, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in her home.
Yvonne was born in McCreary County, Ky. on October 21, 1937 to the late Lawrence Perkins and Sarah Parlena Taylor Perkins. She married Kenneth C. Lovett, her high school sweetheart and became a Soldiers wife after he enlisted in the US Army. After their move to Fayetteville, she stated she was not moving again and they have resided in Fayetteville for 43 years. Yvonne loved to sew and was a great seamstress. She would sew for friends and even made her daughter’s wedding dresses. Her home is full of beautiful Porcelain Dolls that she made right down to the clothes they wear. Yvonne was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by everyone she knew.
She is survived by her loving husband, Retired SFC Kenneth C. Lovett of the home; a son, Kenneth Cecil Lovett II of Fayetteville; daughter’s, Vicki R. Powell of Charlotte NC., Tina Holmberg of Olympia, WA. and Tammy O’Quinn of Lexington, NC.; a brother, Charles Perkins of Richmond, VA.; a sister, Brenda Perkins of Charlotte, NC.; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
A family and friend gathering will begin 2:00 PM Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 535 Anson Dr. Fayetteville, NC 28311 and Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM following the gathering at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 Monday, September 28, 2015 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with Reverend Gary Lovitt officiating.
