Willie Mae Glover, 87, of Fayetteville, NC died at her home on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Mrs. Glover was born in Columbia, SC on February 2, 1934 to the late James Glover and Nellie Wright. She later moved to New Orleans, LA and worked as a Barge Repair Supervisor.
Mae loved The Lord and was very active in the Pentecostal Church where she worked diligently in the Homeless Ministry until sickness hindered her attendance. She loved to cook Cajun Food and was a great advocate for children throughout the community.
Mrs. Glover is preceded in death by two husbands, Alexander Butts, and Jimmy Moody; three sisters, Rose Wright, Harriett Wright, and Dorothy Smith; a grandson, Shawn Herring; and a great grandson Darius Herring.
She is survived by her children, Marguerite Galloway, of Philadelphia, PA, Alexander Butts, of Gretna, LA, Bonita Moody, of Baton Rouge, LA, Tasha Moody, of Fayetteville, NC, and Jawan Moody, of Miami, FL; her brother Jesse Wright, of Philadelphia, PA; twelve grandchildren, Romero Herring, Christopher Galloway, Michael Galloway, Montre Moody, Cadijah Perkins, Kardae James, Elijah Pete, Kyle J. Moody Jr., Giavanna Butts, Isabella Butts, Khloe Moody, and Giannis Butts; and six great grandchildren, Carmello Love, Reign Jordan, Montre Moody Jr., Romello Chamorro, Teneasha Herring, and Marquise Herring; and a host of extended family members and friends.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at LaFayette Funeral Home located at 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304. Family Visitation will begin one hour prior at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Rockfish Memorial Park located at 4017 Gillespie St. Fayetteville, NC 28306.
