William Dale Oxendine, 74, of Fayetteville, passed away on May 29, 2024. Born on June 13, 1949, in Columbus County, NC, he was the cherished son of the late Vardell Oxendine and Mable Lee Hunt.
A proud Vietnam Veteran, William served with distinction in the United States Navy. After his military service, he dedicated his career to Goodyear. He was a devoted father and a beloved superintendent at Galilee Holiness Church. He loved fishing trips and going off to the races. William had a special bond with his grandchildren and was a caring figure in his neighborhood, known for his kindness and generosity. His family and friends will remember him with great affection and profound respect.
Preceded in death by his parents, Vardell Oxendine and Mable Lee Hunt; his sister, Cathy Miller; and his brother, David Oxendine, William's memory lives on through his surviving family.
He is survived by his stepfather, John Hunt of Fayetteville, NC; his son, Fredrick Dale Oxendine of Little River, SC; his daughter, Stephanie Oxendine of Fayetteville, NC; his sister, Joyce Revels of Fayetteville, NC; his ex-wife, Donnie Davis of Wilmington, NC; his niece, Tiffany Oxendine; his nephews, Travis Oxendine, James Revels, and John Revels; his four grandchildren, Elijah Oxendine, Harmoni Oxendine, Zachary Colon, and Ethan Colon; and many other extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Galilee Freewill Holiness Church, located at 3525 Sunnyside School Road, Fayetteville, NC 28312. Funeral services will commence at 2:30 PM, followed by interment at Cape Fear Baptist Church Cemetery.
