Virginia "Sally" (Ellison) Denton

Virginia ‟Sally” Denton, 81, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Sally was born in Chattanooga, TN on June 3, 1940, daughter to the late Theodore and Bertie Barbee Ellison. Sally was a homemaker who loved her family, music, playing Guitar and the Lord. She never complained even after her recent health issues, was so soft hearted and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Her gentle spirit will live on through her children and she will be greatly missed.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Tilman Denton, 2 sons, Mark Denton and Kerry Denton, a daughter, Ruth Britt and 2 brothers, Douglas Ellison and Theodore Ellison.

She is survived by her loving children, 2 sons, Charlie Gann of Eastover and Andrew Denton of Yadkinville, NC; 3 daughters, Shannon Belcher of Autryville, Stephanie Grantham of Virginia Beach, VA and Kimberly Waldrup of Fayetteville; a brother, Robert Ellison of Kansas City, KS;12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10:00-11:30 AM Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford RD. Fayetteville, NC 28304.

Funeral Services will begin at 11:30 AM following the visitation with Pastor John Adderly officiating.

Burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.
