SSG Keith Martinez Wright, 29, of Fayetteville, NC, formerly of Petersburg, VA, departed this life on July 23, 2022.

Keith Jr. was born in Montebello, CA son to Holly Anne Smith and Keith Martinez Wright Sr. (Lakeitia) on August 17, 1992. He attended Creek Grove Church as a child. Later he attended Bethany Baptist Church (with family friend Rene Cooper) and became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with his grandma Jean. Keith attended Petersburg High School in Virginia, and graduated with a High School Diploma.

SSG Wright was currently serving in the US Army. He enlisted in the Army on July 20, 2012 and served with utmost honor and dignity. SSG Wright worked as a Logistics Specialist at Fort Bragg, NC, and was deployed overseas multiple times. During his service he received the following awards and decorations: Army Commendation Medal (second award), Army Achievement Medal (fourth award), Army Good Conduct Medal (third award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Parachutist Badge, and Marksmanship Qualification Badge (Rifle).

Keith Jr. is preceded in death by his grandfather, Harlan Keith Wright; his aunts, Karen Baldwin and Shaana Gilmore; his uncle Larry Gilmore; his best friend, Cedrick Monroe; and his grandpa, Frolin Hatcher.

SSG Wright leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Kyley Wright; his mother and father, Holly Anne Smith and Keith Martinez Wright Sr. (Lakeitia), step dad and uncle, Leon Cagle (Kerri), his first wife, the mother of his first three children, Shawanda Wright; his aunts, Pamela Bagina, Tonja Smith, Tracy Moore, and Yvonne William, his uncles; Robert Smith (Sandra), Terence Smith (Gloria), Dwayne Hatcher (Lica), Tyrone Moore (Milaya), Tavion Preston, Derek Andrade (Shiela) and Clinton Wright (LaTisha); his sisters, LaTishanae, LaShae (Jaun), LaNae (Davon), Keara, Keila, Crystal, Lakeisha, and Bethany; his brothers, Keyon Smith (Blanca), Kevontae Wright, Rexie Andrade; his grandparents, Robert and Jean Smith, Linda Wright, and Helen Hatcher; his children Kambry Wright, Kayden Wright, Kynnedy Wright, and Knowlen Wright; his stepchildren, Alexis Finney, Savion Finney, Kyrice Williams, and Kyrin Williams; his brothers from another mother, as he would say, Joshua Watley, Trevor Farquharson, Fatim Garland, Luis Washington, Hudson Berry III, Dee Hargett, and Deandre Satterwhite, many cousins and a host of extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM Friday, August 12, 2022 at All-American Chapel, Fort Bragg. The address for the All-American Chapel is 7242 Ardennes St. Fort Bragg, NC 28307.

A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM with Minister Leon Cagle officiating.
