SSG Debra Ann Clement (Ret), 61, of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in her home.
Debra was born in Crowley, Louisiana on March 10, 1961, daughter to the late Melvin Jones Sr. and Mamie Montgomery Jones. She joined the US Army in 1981 and retired in 2001 after 20 years of service. She went on to work at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg and retired several months ago after 20 years. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother.
SSG Clement served with the upmost honor and received the following awards and decorations for her service, Army Commendation Medal, 3rd Award, Army Achievement Medal, 5th Award, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, 6th Award, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Noncommissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 2, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, 3rd Award.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Clement Sr. of Fayetteville; sons, Gerald Clement Jr., Gerard Clement and George Anthony Clement, all of Fayetteville; 6 grandchildren, 1 brother, 5 sisters, and a host of extended family members.
A service to celebrate SSG Clement life will be 11:00 AM, Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Main Post Chapel, 1-1510 Macomb Street, Fort Bragg, NC 28307 with CH. Father Joseph Kokeram Officiating.
Further services and burial will be in Crowley, Louisiana at a later date.
