SSG Brian Joseph O’Berry, 39, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 in his home. SSG O’Berry fought valiantly against cancer but unfortunately lost the battle on December 1, 2020 at the age of 39. SSG O’Berry enlisted in the United States Army in 2003 as a 92F, Petroleum Service Specialist and became a Career Counselor in 2010. As a Career Counselor SSG O’Berry served in the 14th CSH at Fort Benning, 2CR in Germany, and the 82nd CAB at Fort Bragg.

SSG O’Berry served with the utmost distinction and received the following awards in the military: Army Commendation Medal (3 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal (1 Silver Leaf Cluster), Valorous Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation , Army Good Conduct Medal (5 Knots), National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Combat Stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 2), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2), Multinational Force and Observers Medal, Army Career Counselor Badge, Combat Action Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge, Driver Mechanic Badge Wheeled Vehicle.

SSG O’Berry leaves behind a wealth of cherished memories for his wife, Rebecca O’Berry of the home; Father, Daniel O’Berry and Mother Judy O’Berry of Arvada, Colorado; one Sister, Heather Touchton of Broomfield Colorado; and three Brothers, Danny O’Berry of Farmington, Utah, Shawn O’Berry of Laguna Niguel California, and David ‟The Dream Baby” O’Berry of Westminster Colorado.

Preceding SSG O’Berry in death are his two sons Brian Oliver O’Berry, and Matthew O’Berry.

SSG. O’Berry was very intelligent and a professional Career Counselor. He was always outgoing and fun to be around. With distinction he always provided Soldiers with the best care. He will not only be missed personally; but professionally as the Army has lost an outstanding Career Counselor.

Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 PM Thursday December 17, 2020 at Ft. Bragg Main Post Chapel Bldg 1-1510 Sedgewick and Jackson St Fort Bragg NC 28310. A Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors will follow at 3pm.
