Mr. Simmie Carnes Maynard, 73, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Simmie was born in Harnett County on May 17, 1942 to the late Simuel and Mary Lee Jones Maynard. He worked in construction and was a member of Eastside Church of God. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 daughters, Crystal Lee Maynard and Jennie Marie Maynard and siblings, Ervin Dodge Maynard and Irma Dean Pearce.

He is survived by his wife Christine S. Maynard of the home; sons, Stevie Maynard (Michelle) of Lumber Bridge and Robin Dale Maynard (Cathy) of Fayetteville; a brother, Jake Barry Maynard of Fayetteville; sisters, Burley Mae Broughton (David) of Pine Level, Gennie Csiki (Mike) of Toronto, Canada, Dottie M. Stevens of Hope Mills, Delilah Sibbett (Grady) of Eastover, Francine Durham (John) of Pollock, TX and, Patsy Lowery (Bobby) of Hope Mills and Beverly Thompson of Rennert; five grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Friday, June 19, 2015 at Eastside Church of God, 2217 Clinton Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28312.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Eastside Church of God with Rev. Leon Young and Evangelist Johnny Chavis officiating.

Burial will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Dunn.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to LaFayette Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
