It is with great sadness the family of Michael William Meyer announces his passing after a brief illness, on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at the age of 55 years old.

Michael was born March 7th, 1965, in Albany New York. He will be lovingly remembered by his former spouse Natalia and sons Kenneth and Bogdan. Michael is survived by his siblings Scott (Margarita), Kenneth (Tonya) and Marlo (Robert). Ten nieces and nephews, Jacob, Ally, Sophia, Taylor, Nathan, Isabella, Madison, Benjamin, Maverick and Elizabeth.

He will be proudly remembered for serving his country as an airborne paratrooper in the United States Army. Michael retired as a Sergeant First Class with an Honorable Discharge after 21 years, two tours of duty in Iraq, first deployment for operation desert storm and the second deployment for operation Iraqi freedom and numerous overseas deployments.

During his service in the military he was awarded the Bronze star metal, Army commendation medal, National defense service metal, Global war on terrorism service medal, Army good conduct medal, Army achievement medal and many more.

A Funeral Service in memory of Michael will be held 12:00 noon on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Sandhill Sate Veterans Cemetery 8220 Bragg Blvd, Spring Lake, NC 28390.
