Retired SFC, James Emory Vineyard, 67, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
James was born in Ira, TX on August 25, 1947 to the late E.J. and Helen Abernathy Vineyard. He retired from the US Army Special Forces after 22 years of Service. During his military career, he served many tours of duty with Special Forces including Vietnam. James will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Vineyard and a sister, Oneida Stradlin.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Yard Vineyard of the home; step-son, Eddie Mogan and his wife, Saroun Kroch Mogan of Fayetteville; a brother, John Rogers of Snyder, TX; a sister, Carolyn Labus of Ft. Worth, TX and a grandson, Jayden James Mogan of Fayetteville.
Funeral Services with Full Military Honors will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 20, 2014 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304 with Chaplain (CPT) Michael Cerula officiating.
