Sfc James Boyd Tankesly (Ret)

James was born on December 31, 1947 and is remembered by his friends and family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. After his retirement from the US Army (SFC Ret) he worked for many years at the House of Raeford.

James is survived by his wife, Kathryn Brown; daughters Mindy Tankesly, Jody Tankesly of New Bern, NC, Ginny Wilson and Danielle Mitchell of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren Kellie Chappell, Mykaylah Thompson, Deja Fulkerson (Justin), Ryan Thompson II (Justine), Jordan Gage, Trey Ondriezek, Christopher Wilson (Lindsey); he is also survived by son-in-law Johnny Wilson as well as nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.

James is preceded in death by his parents William N. Tankesly and Myrtle A. Johnson, brother William (Dewey) Tankesly, and grandson Timothy Moore.

The family will have a private ceremony with military honors.
