SFC Darren John Mikos, 48, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 in his home surrounded by his family.
SFC Mikos was born in Buffalo, NY on August 7, 1970 to the late John D. Mikos Sr. and Harolyn M. Jacobs Mikos.
Mikos awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (7OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2OLC), Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Good Conduct Medal (8 KNOTS), Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Overseas Ribbon, (X3), Multi International Force and Observers Medal, Jump Master Wings, Air Assault Badge.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lori A. Mikos of the home; a daughter, Lauren A. Mikos of Fayetteville; a grandson, Landon L. Rogers of Fayetteville; a brother, John D. Mikos Jr. of Kent, WA and many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00 AM Friday, February 15, 2019 at the All American Chapel, 7242 Ardennes Rd. St. Fort Bragg, NC 28310.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 A.M. following the visitation with Ch. (CPT) Sean Callahan officiating.
Burial will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd Fort Bragg, NC 28301.
