On Friday, September 13, Edward Lee Hunt Sr., a loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 81.
Born on March 26, 1943, in Beckville, Texas, to John and Leola Hunt, Edward was a decorated Army Vietnam Veteran. While stationed in Berlin, Germany, he met his wife, Renate Monika Hunt. Together, they raised a daughter, Jessica Cager, and a son, Edward Lee Hunt Jr.
Edward had a passion for driving, whether on the golf course or the open road. When not traveling for a golf tournament, he often visited relatives across the country. Known by many names-"Eddie," "Ed," "Opa," and "Dad"-he was loved by all who knew him.
Preceding him in death were his father, John Sr.; his mother, Leola Alexander; his brothers, John Jr. and Travis; his sisters, Margie and Marilyn; and his wife, Renate.
He is survived by his brothers, James and Oscar; his son, Anthony, along with Anthony's son, Marquis, and daughters, Imani and Eunique; his daughter, Jessica; his son, Edward Jr., and his wife, Angela, and their three sons, Max, Travis, and William; and his granddaughter, Alexis, along with her parents, Toaiva and Michael.
Edward's friendly spirit and love of conversation will be deeply missed, but his presence will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
