Retired SGT Ronald Lee Peters, 79, Passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Ronald was born in Vann, WV on September 11, 1934 to the late Luther and Gertrude Griffith Peters. Mr. Peters retired as Police Chief with the city of Coats, NC. He also served with the US Army, was a Vietnam War Veteran, 82nd MP and CID and was the owner of numerous clubs in the Fayetteville area. He was a loving father, grandfather and a friend to all. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Peters.
He is survived by his daughter, Meredith Harding of the home; a son, Ronald L. Peters Jr. of Missouri; grandchildren, Trey Endicott and Skye Wright of Fayetteville.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304 with Chaplain Matthew Heist officiating.
Burial with Military Honors will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC.
