Mr. Robert Earl Hales Sr. passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013 in Cape Fear Valley Hospital at the age of 73.
Robert was born on May 1, 1939 in Cumberland County to the late Joe Preston and Ella Mae Butler Hales. He was a Pipe Fitter by trade before retiring. Robert was a member of Haymount Freewill Baptist Church and played the Guitar with the Gospel Group Laborer’s for Christ for many Years. Robert was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Carolyn A. Hales of Fayetteville; Children, Robert Hales Jr. of Fayetteville, Lisa Freeman of Fayetteville; step children, Lloyd Winger of Spring Lake, Deborah Rutka, Timothy Winger, Teresa Scott and Dawn Collinsworth, all of Fayetteville; Sister, Mildred Bradford of Fayetteville; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Friday, May 3, 2013 at Lafayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville,, NC 28304.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Haymount Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Clarence Privette officiating.
