Mr. Richard Earl Fleenor, 88, of Fayetteville, died on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Fleenor was born in Lecher County, Kentucky on December 19, 1932 to the late John P. Fleenor Jr. and Pearl Wells Fleenor. Richard was a US Air Force Veteran and worked as an Engineer for over 30 years. He loved The Lord with all of his heart and served faithfully as a Deacon, Maintenance Manager, and Laymen in the various churches he attended throughout his life. Most recently he attended Antioch Church of God where he used his talents as a Craftsman to build a mantle in the fellowship building, and wooden crosses for the teen hall. His service and talents were much appreciated and will be greatly missed.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louella Beatty Fleenor; a brother, John Patton Fleenor III; and a sister, Elizabeth Fairchild.
He is survived by a daughter, Gloria Baden (Don), of Fayetteville, NC; a son, John Patton Fleenor IV (Susan), of Los Angeles, CA; three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Antioch Church of God, 542 Shaw Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28303 with the Rev. Steven G. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Cumberland Memorial Gardens 4509 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
