Retired SSG Norberto Ruiz Jr., 44, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Norberto was born in Perth Amboy, NJ on June 7, 1969 to Norberto Sr. and Gloria Rodriguez Ruiz. He enlisted in the army after High School and retired in 2012 as a Staff Sergeant. He loved his Military family and playing Softball, but most of all, he loved his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Wanda Ruiz of Fayetteville; his parents, Gloria and Norberto Ruiz Sr. of Puerto Rico; children, Natasha Branch of Atlanta, GA, Stephanie Ruiz of Oklahoma City, OK and Diana Ruiz of Fayetteville; a sister, Christina Ruiz Cruz of Miami, FL; seven grandchildren, Yajaira, Ny’Asia, Jaiden, Ja’Leah, Nakeila, Angeliz and Javier.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Division Memorial Chapel, Building #C-5332, Ardennes St. Fort Bragg, NC 28310 with an Army Chaplain Officiating.
Burial with Full Military Honors will be 12:00 noon Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
