Retired SFC Donald Lee Wenger, 77, passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 in his home.
Donald was born in Cumberland County, PA on February 2, 1937 to the late Jacob and Wavie Stuckey Wenger. He retired from the US Army after 20 years serving in Korea and Vietnam. He was assigned to the 82nd Airborne and loved his God, country and family. After retirement he worked with Power Swain Chevrolet, Warriors on the water, Casting with Kids and was an avid fisherman. Donald was always kind and would help anyone. He had high morals, firm on his convictions, but most of all he loved his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Diannia Wenger.
Donald is survived by his loving wife Judy Wenger of the home; daughters, Tammy Williamson (Mark) of Hope Mills and Donna Brigman (Tracy) of Fayetteville; brothers, Jacob Wenger (Cecila) of Colorado, David Wenger (Peggy) of California and Dan Wenger of Oregon; a sister, Diana Gomez (Fred) of Arizona; four grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Monday November 3, 2014 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
Funeral Services will be 2:30 PM Tuesday November 4, 2014 at LaFayette Funeral Home with Pastor John Blackmon officiating.
Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park West, 6701 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
In Lieu of Flowers Memorials may be made in his honor to the National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department 30 East 33rd St. New York, NY 10016.
