Retired MAJ Billie Hugh Toney, 83, Passed Away Monday, March 24, 2014 in the Fayetteville VA Medical Center.
Billie was born in Forest City, NC on November 23, 1930 to the late Lonnie C. Toney and Maude Haulk Toney. He retired as a Major in the US Army in 1977 and then retired as a teacher at Douglas Byrd Junior High School. He was a member of the Masonic Phoenix Lodge #8 in Fayetteville and a Shriner. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Townsel Toney and 5 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his sons, Bruce Dale Toney and his wife Mallory of Ocala, FL and Steven D. Toney of Falls Church, VA; daughter, Caryle DeAnne Christopher and her husband Alan of Fayetteville; 3 grandchildren, Maddison Toney, Chrissy Jones and A.J. Christopher and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Thursday, March 27, 2014 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, March 28, 2014 at LaFayette Funeral Home with Tim Morgan officiating.
Burial with Full Military Honors and Masonic Rights will follow the service at the Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Bragg, NC.
