Retired CPT. John E. Lucas, 84, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at his home.
John was born in Huntington, WV on July 15, 1929 to the late Garland and Rosa Kirk Lucas. He retired as a Captain from the US Army. He loved playing Golf, was a member of the Moose Lodge and was a great Mechanic.
John is survived by his three sons, Johnny Lee Lucas of Charlotte, Danny Lucas of Surf City and Ronnie Lucas of Hope Mills; his companion, Elizabeth Inferrera of Fayetteville and her children, Paul Inferrera of Leland, NC, Peter White of Providence, NC and Sophina Goodall of Carolina Beach, NC; a brother, Kenneth Lucas of Huntington, WV and a sister, Ercie Powell of Huntington, WV; seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, August 23, 2013 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday August 24, 2013 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304. Full Military Honors will be observed at the conclusion of the service.
