Mrs. Renate M. Vasquez, 74, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Renate was born in Germany on August 20, 1939 to the late Johannes and Gertrude Kuhlmann. She was a military wife and homemaker and moved with her husband from Zion, IL. in 1988 due to his transfer to Fort Bragg. They continued to make their home in Fayetteville after his retirement. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be missed by all.
Renate is survived by her husband, Johnny Vasquez of Fayetteville; a son, Roland Vasquez and his wife Lucy of San Antonio, TX; daughters, Susanne Hartman and her husband Edward of Wisconsin, Brenda Otero and her husband Leonardo of New Mexico, Junet Vasquez of Korea, Marcelina Venosh of Pensacola, FL and Manuela Thornton and her husband Daniel of Pensacola, Fl.; 27 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 7-9 PM Friday, May 2, 2014 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
Graveside Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 3, 2014 at LaFayette Memorial Park West, 6701 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
