Randalph James Mehan

Sergeant First Class Randalph James Mehan (Retired), 57, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in his home, in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  Randalph was born in Germany, to the late Robert Lewis Mehan and Emma Maria Gross. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Debbie Hinnant and Rosalin Mehan; two brothers, Haas Gross and Freddy Gross.

Randalph proudly enlisted in the United States Army on October 29, 1985 in Raleigh, North Carolina.  During his enlistment, he received a Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal and Expeditionary Medal. He also completed an advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course, Primary Leadership Development Course and a Supply Specialist Course.

During his 22 years of faithful service, he served as a Medical Equipment Representative and a Unit Supply Specialist.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Barbara Ramsey Lewis of Fayetteville, North Carolina; one daughter, Nicole Mehan and her mother, Darcy Mehan, both of Fayetteville, North Carolina; one brother, Mike Mehan of Fayetteville, North Carolina; one sister, Barbara Mehan Revard of Fayetteville, North Carolina, two nephews, Jonathan Hinnant of Milan, Tennessee, Wesley Mehan of Hope Mills, North Carolina and a host of family members and friends.

To celebrate the life of SFC Randalph James Mehan, a visitation will be held Saturday, July 17th, 2021, 2PM-3PM at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, North Carolina 28304.  A Memorial Service will follow at 3PM with Military Honors and the burial will take place at a later time.
