Mr. Ralph Edward “Swooper” Spaulding, 74, Passed Away Sunday, June 8, 2014 in his home.

Ralph was born in Hamilton County, Ohio on March 10, 1940 to Charles W. and Charlotte Kollmann Spaulding. He graduated from Roger Bacon High School in Cincinnati, Ohio and then joined the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force he served in many locations, but his main job was guarding the border eyeball to eyeball with the Russians. After he finished his tour of duty he worked on Ft. Bragg in construction and retired several years ago. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Richard Spaulding, Barbara Jean Spaulding Berg and Virginia Mae Spaulding Mansour.

He is survived by his daughters, Juli Turner and her husband Brian of Riverview, FL and Rhonda Fleming of Monroe, NC; brother, Jerome W. “Jerry” Spaulding of Surgoinsville, TN; sister, Cecilia “Ceal” Spaulding Morris of LaGrange, GA; 4 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, June 13, 2014 at Galatia Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Reverend Robert Staples officiating.

Arrangements for the family are in the care of LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
