Norman Terry Harris, 56, died Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Cape Fear Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.
His father Norman Harris and brother Grandford “Tacky” Locklear predecease him.
He will be forever remembered by his loving mother, Margaret Locklear Backlund of Fayetteville, NC; his daughter Tabitha Harris of the Charlotte, NC area; his brother, Eddie Harris of Fayetteville, NC; his sisters Dana (Billy) Stricklin of Angier, NC and Teresa (Randy) Weaver of Florahome, FL; his aunts Patsy Jacobs of Laurinburg, NC and Barbara Penny of Clayton, NC; 4 nephews; 4 nieces; 5 great-nieces; 3 great-nephews; close family friend, James Sturdivant of Fayetteville, NC; along with countless family and friends who were blessed to know him.
A proud Lumbee Indian, Terry enjoyed making beautiful Native American jewelry. He loved motorcycles, listening to bluegrass and attending festivals, eating delicious home cooked southern food and working in the yard. He always had a good story to tell when visiting family and friends and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
Visitation will be 2:00-5:00 PM Sunday, April 16, 2017 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, April 17, 2017 at LaFayette Memorial Park West with Rev. Robert Staples officiating.
