Staff Sgt. Nicole Beamon-Jones, 36, of Fort Bragg, N.C. passed away Wednesday May 2, 2012 in Cape Fear Valley Hospital.

SSG Beamon-Jones was born on June 18, 1975 in Suffolk, VA to Herbert and Gladys Beamon. She graduated from Windsor High School Suffolk, VA in 1993. SSG Beamon-Jones received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia State University in 1998 and her Masters from Murray State in 2003. She enlisted in the United States Army on July 3, 2000 and attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, VA where she was awarded the MOS 92A, Automated Logistics Specialist. SSG Beamon-Jones then proceeded to her first duty station; 101st Soldier Support BN, Fort Campbell, KY where she served as a Finance Payroll Specialist. SSG Beaman-Jones PCS’d to Germany as a Finance Payroll Specialist, then to the 325th Combat Support, Schofield Barracks, HI where she served as a Material Control Accounting Specialist. SSG Beamon-Jones then PCS’d to Fort Bragg, NC where she was assigned to 1st, BN 7th Air Defense Artillery where she served as an Equipment Records and Parts Sergeant and Assistant NCOIC. SSG Beamon-Jones’s final assignment was Bravo Company, Warrior Training Battalion, Fort Bragg, NC.

SSG Beamon-Jones’s military awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal 1 OLC, The Army Achievement Medal OLC, Army Good Conduct Medal 2 OLC, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.

SSG Beamon-Jones is survived by her husband Robert J. Jones of Windsor, VA, Children: Nicolas 10, Niyah 8, Christopher 2; Mother, Gladys Beamon of Suffolk, VA; Father, Herbert Beamon and his wife Lanae of Portsmouth, VA; 3 Sisters, SPC Paulette Taylor of Fort Bragg, NC, Evelyn Beamon of Suffolk, VA, Celeste Beamon of Newport News, VA; 1 Brother, Herbert Beamon, Jr. of Suffolk, VA and a special Nephew, DeShawn Beamon. Special God Parents, 1LT’s Derrick and Kiesha Hall, Sheretta and Fam Pratt.

Visitation will be held 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304

Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Road Fayetteville, NC 28304 with Chaplain (CPT) Jeremiah Cates officiating.

Burial will be 1:00 PM Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Pulaski Baptist Church Cemetery, 6431 Carrsville Hwy, Carrsville, VA 23315.
