MSG Patrick Santiago, (Retired), 61, of Fayetteville passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020 in UNC Chapel Hill Hospital.
Patrick was born in Manhattan, NY on March 17, 1958 to Marcelino Santiago and Irma Torres. He enlisted in the US Army in 1983 and served several tours of duty overseas. He retired as a Master Sergeant in 2007. He is preceded in death by his father, Marcelino Santiago.
MSG Santiago received the following Awards and Decorations: Meritorious Service Medal, 4 OLC, Army Commendation Medal with 4 OLC, Army Achievement Medal, (7), Army Good Conduct Medal (8), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon (3), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, (2), Driver and Mechanic Badge-Mechanic, Basic Marksmanship Qualification Badge and Parachutist Badge.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Zaida Santiago; his mother, Irma Torres; his son, Patrick Santiago; his daughters, Sharon Santiago and Patricia Carter; his brother, Ramon Santiago; his sisters, Lillian Furrow and Sara Rodriguez; his grandchildren, Jamel Santiago, Alyanna Carter, Josmyne Santiago, Annalise Carter, Vanessa Santiago, Daniela Santiago and many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304
Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at LaFayette Funeral Home with Pastors Nathan Locklear and Cindy Huffman officiating.
Burial with Full Military Honors will follow the service in LaFayette Memorial Park West, 6701 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
