Mr. Michael Kent Thompson, 55, of Fayetteville died Thursday, July 17, 2014 in the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Michael was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on October 10, 1958 to Cliff and Irene Jinks Thompson. He served in the US Army until he was medically retired due to illness. He is preceded in death by his father, Cliff Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Benilda Thompson of Fayetteville; his mother, Irene Jinks Thompson of Sacramento, CA; a son, David Arnoco Thompson of Fayetteville; a daughter, Camille Aleta Thompson of Fayetteville and a sister, Aleta Jill Thompson of Sacramento, CA.
Visitation will be held 2:00-4:00 PM Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
A graveside service will be held 12:00 noon Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
