Mazie J. Stewart, 69 departed this life for her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 11, 2012.
In Cape Fear Valley Medical Center at the age of 69

Mrs. Stewart was born on June 30, 1943, the twelfth child to deceased parents of Golden R. and Rosa B. Johnson in Charleston, West Virginia.

Survivors are her husband of 48 years, James E. Stewart.  Daughters, Jerri L. Stewart, Christy A Garner and Amanda D. Stone-Stewart.  Adopted daughter: Sharon Gore; Grandson Jeffery M. Garner all of Fayetteville. Brothers George Johnson of Portrage, Indiana; Robert Johnson of Hurricane West Virginia, Theoadore (Ted) Johnson of Cocoa Beach, FL  Sisters: Elizabeth (Libby) Scott of Charleston, West Virginia; Loucille (Lu) Gatewod, and Virginia (Jerry) Evans of Dunbar, West Virginia, Patricia (Pat) Cook of Clear Water, FL. Mazie J Stewart was sister-in-law/sister to Martha (Cookie) Townsend of Fredrecksburg, VA, John ad Connie Stewart of Inwood, West Virginia.  David and Doris Stewart of Huntsville, AL, Frank and Sue Stewart of Keerville, TX.  Many nieces and nephews throughout the USA.

Mazie J. Stewart worked many years as the manager of the Shoe Department at the Capital Department Store, Tulips and John Allen Shoes.  She was also one of the main people of advocating the deaf/hard of hearing into public schools.

Many friends and extended families throughout the world will deeply miss this wonderful woman who brought something special to everyone she has ever met, throughout her 69 years of life.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 PM Friday July 20, 2012 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.

Memorial Service will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, July 21, 2012 at West Fayetteville Baptist Church with Reverend Tony Wilson officiating.

Services for the family are in the care of LaFayette Funeral Home 6651 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC
