Kathryn Maxine Hoff, 86, died August 15, 2021. Maxine was born October 24, 1934 in Cumberland County to the late Malcolm (Mack) and Mary Register.
At an early age Maxine would catch the bus every Saturday to go downtown and take music lessons from Mrs. Bell. Her desire was to be able to play out of the Broadman Hymnal while her dad directed the music at Bonnie Doone Baptist Church. This sharing of her talent continued through the rest of her life by playing in many area churches up until two weeks prior to her death.
Maxine was ready to prepare a shower for a new bride or prospective mother with a moment’s notice. With her cake squares and the Register Memorial punch bowl in hand she was on her way.
A Christian homegoing and a tribute of a life spent in love with her husband of 62 1/2 years, Jake, and love for her three daughters and honor to God will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 2 pm at Crystal Springs Chapel located at 1465 Crystal Springs Road with Rev. Nick Smith officiating. Services will be preceded with a visitation from 12 - 2 pm.
Committal will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC.
Along with her husband, Jake and a daughter Pam, Maxine is preceded in death by a her, parents, brother, Albert Lee Register and sister Faye Register Ezzell.
Survivors include two daughters Cindy Snow (John) of Jacksonville Florida; and Teresa Monroe of Fayetteville; brother, Kenneth Register (Patricia) of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Kathryn and Cameron Smith, Adam and Keith Monroe and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
