MSGT. Manfred Williams (Retired), 71, of Raeford, NC, passed away August 20, 2019 in his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.

“Phred” was born in Germany on August 31, 1947 to the late Edward and Emma Williams. He retired from the U.S Army in 1988 with many awards and medals including Overseas Service Ribbon//Bronze Star Medal//2 Purple Hearts (1st Oak Leaf Cluster)//Defense Meritorious Service Medal//Meritorious Service Medal (2dOak Leaf Cluster)//Army Commendation Medal (2d Oak Leaf Cluster)//Good Conduct Medal (7 Awards)//National Defense Service Medal//Vietnam Service Medal//NCO Professional Development Ribbon// Vietnam.

Phred was the most loving husband to Jacqueline, his wife of 48 years; an incredible father to his three daughters, Dana (Joshua), Melissa (Larry) and Amanda; and the best Papa to his four Grandsons, Sean, Robert, Christian and Jesse; four Granddaughters, Jacqueline, Jordan, Alexiana and Addison.  He is also survived by his brother Wilfried (Marion).

A Memorial Service to Celebrate his life, and honor his military career will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 23, 2019 at LaFayette Funeral Home.
