Lawrence William Murgittroyd Jr.

Lawrence William Murgittroyd Jr, Age 65 of Raeford, North Carolina, passed away on April 24, 2022 at Cape Fear Valley Hospital with the Love of his life by his side, Ms. Penelope Noszek and her son John.

Lawrence was born December 29, 1956 in Jersey City, NJ. He was known to his friends and family as Larry, JR, Jay or Murg. Lawrence was a 20 year veteran of the United States Army as well as serving 20 years for the North Carolina Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer. He loved the beach, woodworking, gardening, fishing and his beloved dog Puppy.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence William Murgittroyd Sr. and Florence Claire Murgittroyd (Welby) and his brother Michael.

He is survived by his sisters Karen, Donna and Kelly; his brothers; his nephew and special Buddy Scottie; his sons, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Services for Lawrence will be held 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
