Kazuko Yamanoha Yara

Kazuko Yamanoha Yara, 86, of Fayetteville, died in Wilmington, North Carolina on July 10, 2021.  Mrs. Yara was born in Paia, Maui in Hawaii and retired as a bookkeeper at the Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union.

She is survived by her son Michael Yara (wife, Rosario); her daughters Kay Yara, Geri Yara, Lois Yara and Colleen Peat (husband, Kirk); three sisters Stella Nakamura, Patsy Chu and Edna Pang; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband George Yara, son Randy Yara, and grandson Daniel Yara.

Kazuko was a woman of many talents and loved to crochet, sew, go fishing, and watch the grandkids play soccer. She also loved to read and cook for family and friends.  She could play a variety of musical instruments by ear including, ukulele, guitar, harmonica and the organ. Family and friends describe Kazuko as being kind, sweet, and most generous.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC. 28304.  A graveside service will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park West, 6701 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC. 28304.
