Mrs. Joyce Mae Felts Shirley, 72, went home to be with her Lord Monday, April 28, 2014 in her home.

Mrs. Shirley was born in Welch, West Virginia on October 6, 1941 to the late Roy Anderson Felts and Bertha Jenkins Felts. She worked for the Cumberland County School Systems and was a charter member of the Antioch Church of God. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Arnold Felts and Elwood Felts and sisters, Nadine Williams and Gail Atkins. Joyce loved her family and she loved the Lord. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Johnny M. Shirley of the home; a son, Johnny “Wayne” Shirley of Lillington; a daughter, Patricia A. Carney of St. Pauls; sisters, Gloria Smith of Ft. Wayne, IN, Sue Racine of Port Deposit, MD and Kathy Cooper of Aberdeen, MD; a grandson, Nelson Lee Emmons and a great grandson, Nelson “Daniel” Emmons.

Visitation will be 5:30-7:00 PM Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Antioch Church of God, 542 Shaw Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28303 with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 PM at Antioch Church of God with Reverend Stephen Johnson officiating.

Entombment will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, 4509 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
