Jorge Luis Davila-Alamo

August 11, 1952 — May 9, 2020

Dateline: Fayetteville

Jorge Luis Davila-Alamo was born August 11, 1952 in Santurce, Puerto Rico.  He was the son of the late German Davila-Correa and the late Cristobalina Alamo.  He departed life May 9, 2020 at the age of 67, in his beloved home, surrounded by his family.

Jorge attended Baldorioty de Castro Vocational High School in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Jorge served in the US Army for 11 years and was the proud owner of Davila’s Paint & Body Shop located on Murchison Road in Fayetteville, NC, where he worked faithfully until the decline of his health.

He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, in Fayetteville, NC where he served as an usher.  Jorge loved serving others.  He became a very active member of the Knights of Columbus, a global Catholic fraternal service organization that brings financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled and needy and their families.  Jorge was even appointed and proudly served as Grand Knight.  He remained a devoted member until his illness prevented him from physically attending.

Jorge loved the Lord immensely.  Even in illness you could pass by his room and hear him affectionately talking to his friend saying, “Te Quiero Siempre Papa Dios Jesus Cristo Mi Dios (I love you always Father God Jesus Christ my God.)"

When Jorge found the love of the Lord, it enhanced his love of people.  Everywhere he went, he told every person that he encountered, “I Love You.” He loved unconditionally.  Jorge will be greatly missed, by both his family and his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents German Davila-Correa and the late Cristobalina Alamo; three brothers: Juan Antonio Danzot Alamo, Miguel Angel Danzot Alamo, German Davila Alamo, Jr; and three sisters: Enriqueta Davila Alamo, Enerida Davila Alamo, and Irma Eludales Davila.

He leaves to cherish his memories, Four children: Nayda Liz Davila-Forister (Tammy) of St. James, Missouri; Jorge “Georgie” Luis Davila, Jr. (Maria) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Gary Lee Gourdine Davila of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Maritza Loana Burgos (Julio) of Fayetteville, North Carolina.  Three siblings: Juan Francisco Danzot Alamo, Maria de Los Angeles Davila Alamo, and Carmen Maria Davila Alamo; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends; and a very special caretaker and friend, Sybil Davila.

Burial will be private in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
