Jeffie Juanita "Nita" Scoggins

Mrs. Jeffie Juanita ‟Nita” Scoggins, 73, of Fayetteville passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Jeffie was born in McNairy County, Tennessee on June 25, 1951, daughter to the late Roy Melbourne Moore and Opal Mae Plunk Moore. She worked in retail sales most of her life and was an excellent cook. She loved to travel, the beach, reading, the snow, but most of all she loved her grandchildren and family. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Tiffany Scoggins and her siblings, Rose Marie Daniels, Edward Hayes and Glenda Agnew.

She is survived by her husband, Lewis Hobson Scoggins Jr. of the home; a daughter, Mary Lucinda ‟Cindy” Atwell (Derrick); a step daughter, Amanda Cousins; brothers, Melbourne Moore, Johnny Moore (Sissie), Terry Moore (Patsy); sisters, Joyce Suggs (Billy), Sherry Brooks (Jeff); 3 grandchildren, Kaleb Atwell, Landon Atwell, Delaney Atwell and many extended family members and friends. 

Visitation will be 6:00 -8:00 PM, Sunday, March 16, 2025 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.

Funeral Services will be 12:30 PM Monday, March 17, 2025 at LaFayette Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, March 17, 2025 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd, Fort Bragg, NC 28310.
