James O'Neal Smith

James O'Neal Smith Junior, son of the late Mr. James O'Neal Senior and Grace Smith was born September 16, 1961 in Panama City, Florida.

He departed this life Monday, August 10, 2015 at his loving sister home with family at his bedside in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Brother Smith was educated in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where he attended William H Owen and Douglas Byrd Senior High School. He went on and received a degree in Culinary Arts in Job Corps.

At a young age James set out to see the countryside living in California, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Florida, and Kentucky. He was an Amazing brother, uncle, friend, and confident. His heart was full of gold. Giving you his shirt off of his back.

Towards the end of James life he became ill leaving him with the ability to not get around on his own. Then the telephone became his friend. Many people received phone calls at all time of the day. James just wanted to talk about life and remember the good times.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his longtime partner Debra k. Camp, of Fayetteville, NC, Four Sisters: Evelyn (Henry) D Rollock of Fayetteville, NC, Sheron (Gregory) Rollock of San Antonio, TX, Veronica (James) Y. Dawson of Fayetteville, NC, and Valerie (Kenneth) Funderburg of Riverview, FL. Seven nieces and nephews: Latoshia Smith, Angela Rollock, Letitia Fernandez, Gregory Rollock, Tremayne Smith, Michael Rollock, and Garion Curry. Grand nieces and nephews: Nichole Smith, Thessilonia Riveria, Ke'Asia Smith, Amonte Rollock, Angelissa Riveria, and Marcus Riveria and two great grandnieces: Ja'Hyda and Ja'Ziyah Owens, and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Saturday, August 15, 2015 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, NC.

Funeral service will begin 11am, Sunday, August 16, 2015 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, NC.
