Mr. James Ernest Clark, 79, of Hope Mills, NC, passed away suddenly at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center on Monday, March 30, 2021 from complications of severe pancreatitis.
Ernest, as he was known by his family, was the son of Durant Clark and Alice Parker Clark, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Clark.
He is survived by his sons, Terry Clark of Raeford and Ronald Clark of St. Pauls; a daughter, Barbara Dimmick of Linden; He was the grandfather of eight and great grandfather of four. He was also Uncle to many nieces and nephews and relative to many others. He is also survived by his longtime friend and companion, Becky Bullock.
James Ernest Clark worked as a mechanic at Bryan Honda, formerly Bryan Pontiac, for 43 years. He continued to work on his car, as well as working on neighbors and family members’ cars. He loved watching and going to races. He also loved fishing, gardening, and biking, and just being outdoors.
To celebrate his life, a family and friends visitation is planned for Sunday, April 4, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lafayette Funeral Home on Raeford Road.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 11:30AM at Family Community Baptist Church located 3915 Camden Road, Fayetteville, NC 28306 Pastor Roy Arrington officiating.
Burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.
