Jacob Augustus (Bud) Hoff, 87, died Saturday, August 21, 2021. Jake was born on November 14, 1933 in Preble Co., Ohio to the late Carl and Goldie Hoff. He was a veteran in the US Air Force.
Jake loved and served his Savior and Lord in his daily life/ he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Royal Ambassador Counselor and changed many lives.
After serving six years in the Air Force, Jake attended and graduated from Fayetteville State University. He retired from Civil Service in Accounting and taught Accounting and related fields a number of years at Fayetteville Technical Community.
In his younger years Jake was a trophy winner in Horse Shoes. This continued through his Air Force career. Later in life he regained his desire and ability to pitch Horse Shoes and was inducted into the North Carolina Horseshoe Hall of Fame.
Many years after a heart bypass he felt lead to aid the families of those that were scheduled for bypass. He was there to comfort but even though he was not allowed to ask the family to pray, he was happy to pray for them and their loved one when asked.
A Christian homegoing and a tribute of a life spent in love with his wife of 62 ½ years, Maxine, and love for his three daughters and honor to God, will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 2 pm at Crystal Springs Chapel located at 1400 Crystal Springs Drive, Fayetteville, NC. With Rev. Nick Smith officiating. Services will be preceded with a visitation from 12 and 2 pm.
Interment will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Lafayette Memorial Park with military honors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, daughter, Pam his parents and a number of brothers and sisters.
He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Snow (John) of Jacksonville, Florida and Teresa Monroe of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Kathryn Marrs, Cameron Smith, Adam and Keith Monroe; sister, Marilyn Wehrley of Parrish Florida; brothers, Don Hoff of Beavercreek, Ohio, Doug Hoff of Union City, Ohio and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
