Mr. Hiram P. Jewart Sr., 99, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014 in his home.
Hiram was born in Butte County, CA on March 20, 1915 to the late David E. and Emma Jane Park Jewart. He was the owner of Hi Jewart Trucking Company in California before retirement. He is preceded in death by a son, David Jewart.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Hiram Park “Butch” Jewart Jr. and his wife Terry of Stockton, CA, JoAnn Yerby Atkinson of Fayetteville, NC, David Kirt Johnson and his wife Tatiana of Solvang, CA; step children, Clair Mills of Sonora, CA, Denise Kost and her husband Stephen of Stockton, CA and Samantha Towne and her husband Jerry of Stockton, CA; 15 grandchildren, two which are from the Fayetteville area, CW5 Jonathan Yerby and his wife April of Fayetteville and SGT Shawn Yerby and his wife Tammy of Newport News, VA and many great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held 5:00 PM Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Lafayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
Burial will follow at Park View Cemetery and Funeral Home in Manteca, CA at a later date.
