Hector Luis Rodriguez Jr.

Hector Luis Rodriguez Jr. 52, of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Hector, aka Picolo, was born in Brooklyn, New York, on April 23, 1972. His parents are Hector Luis Rodriguez Sr. and Grace Gueits Rodriguez. Since the age of 9, Picolo became paralyzed. He led his life with pure conviction and determination but never allowed his wheelchair to define who he was or keep him from doing what he enjoyed. Summer was his favorite season. Every 4th of July, he enjoyed family gatherings with loud Spanish music. Picolo loved to talk, joke around, reminisce about the past and watched the fireworks at the end of the day.

 His hobbies were customizing his 1993 Ford Mustang and researching everything on the internet. Picolo was a go-getter. He enjoyed being challenged to find solutions for problems or situations. Picolo lived life to the fullest. He fought until the end, to which he may be described as a true warrior. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7. Picolo is with his mother and brother running freely and at peace. Picolo is survived by his father, Hector Luis Rodriguez Sr; Fiancée, Rani Ybay; brother, Hector Santana; two sisters, Carmen Diaz and Grace Sabla; and many extended family members and friends.

A visitation will be held 3:00 PM -7:00 PM Friday, February 21, 2025 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 22, 2025 at LaFayette Funeral Home with with Pastor Edwin Rodriguez officiating.

Burial will follow the service at Cumberland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 4509 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
