Gisela Reuter Evilsizer of Fayetteville, North Carolina passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on August 10th, 2022.
Born in Germany, raised in Schwabenheim and went to high school in Ingelheim. She met her future husband, Calvin Evilsizer in Dexheim, Germany while working for the Post Commander as a nanny and English instructor for his two daughters. Calvin extended his tour in Germany in order to win Gisela’s heart. He would later steal her away and take her to Amsterdam to marry.
She loved flowers, especially roses, daisies, and carnations. She was a business owner, real estate agent, decorated security guard at the Fayetteville Airport, and served as President of the Shrinettes at the Hope Mills Shrine Club in 1995. She loved her family fiercely and was the best Mom, Oma, and Great-Oma any kid could wish for. She had a truly brilliant mind and used it to be the best wife, craft a wonderful family, and take care of those she loved and cared for.
Gisela was proceeded in death by her parents Alfons and Katharina Reuter and her son Mathias Evilsizer.
She is survived by her husband Calvin Lee Evilsizer Sr, son Calvin Lee Evilsizer Jr., daughter Una-Lee Evilsizer Sullivan, son Shane Evilsizer, her brothers Klaus Reuter and Mathias Reuter in Germany. Gisela has fifteen grandchildren including grandsons Kevin Rubio Jr., Johnnie Sullivan, Mathias Evilsizer, and granddaughters, Katharina Baker, Kaci Ward, Laura Strickland, Melissa Merrell, Brooke Evilsizer, Hayley Murdock, Micah Evilsizer, Mary-Lee Sullivan Darce, Emma Murdock, Shaynie Evilsizer, Kylee Evilsizer, and Ivey-Lee Evilsizer. Gisela has eight Great Grandchildren including great grandsons Jason Morales Jr, Eddie Strickland, Travis Strickland, Rhyder Morales, Timothy Strickland, and great granddaughters, Ashlynn Ward, Evoleht Baker, and Arrow Baker.
A viewing will be held at the Lafayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28304 on Tuesday, 16 August from 6:00-7:00pm with a religious service held immediately after.
Gisela will be laid to rest at the Sandhills State Veteran’s Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd, Spring Lake, NC 28390 on Wednesday, 17 August from 12:00-12:30 pm.
Immediate family will be at the funeral home 1730 on Tuesday and again at 1030-1130 on Wednesday before departing to the cemetery for interment.
