Garry Allen Franklin, 61, of Fayetteville, North Carolina Passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 in his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Garry Allen Franklin was born on June 27, 1963 in Xenia, Ohio. He was born to Stanley Gordon Franklin and Beatrice Short Franklin. He grew up in Loveland, Ohio and graduated from Loveland High School in 1981. After he graduated at 18, he went straight into the United States Marine Corps and was a Mortarman.

After his time dedicated to the Marine Corps, Garry found his niche and realized he was born to be a salesman. He could sell anyone just about anything. He ended up settling down, and living in Fayetteville, North Carolina where he opened up his own business, a carpet store, named Coastal Carpets. He also met and married his children's mother, Shari Franklin Tobie and together they had two daughters, Megan Sylvester (28) and Lauren Franklin (25). Garry loved being a dad and spoiled his girls rotten. He was also promoted to grandad where he wore the title with such great honor and pride.

Garry is survived by his mother, Beatrice Short Franklin; brother, Matthew Franklin; sister, Sherri Broglin; daughter’s, Megan Sylvester and Lauren Franklin; his children's mother, Shari Franklin Tobie; Son in-law, Samuel Sylvester; granddaughter, Maeve Sylvester; grandsons, Nolan Sylvester and Asher Ford; nephew, Ryan Broglin and his companion, Gay Bass Franklin.

He is preceded in death by his father Stanley Gordon Franklin, his brother Barry Franklin, and the best dog he ever had, Biscuit.

Garry enjoyed deer hunting, shooting rifles, anything that went "boom", camping, watching movies, listening to music, sharing the word of God and loved a good cup of coffee in the morning. He loved to give to those in need and enjoyed making others feel good about themselves. He lit up every room he walked in with his infectious smile and called everybody "buddy" or "friend". He had the most amazing sense of humor and was the goofiest person you'd ever meet. He is remembered fondly by those who knew him and his loss is felt in abundance. He will be sorely missed and as always, Semper Fi.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 28, 2024 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 29304 with Pastor Kent Miller officiating.
