Fred Heygood Carr

October 24, 1945 — June 9, 2020

Fred Heygood Carr, Sr., 74, left this earth to be with the Lord our God on June 9, 2020.

Fred was a loving husband, a caring father, and a doting grandfather to 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was an E4 in the Army where he served a tour in Vietnam. After returning from Vietnam, he worked 13
years for Coble Dairy, then 12 years with Sunbeam Bakery. He retired from the State of North Carolina
with 17 years as a correctional officer at Hoke Prison.

His love of Christ showed through his infectious smile! He was a member of the Choir at Walstone Baptist Church where he sang tenor and brought joy
to everyone who heard him, and also served as a Deacon at Walstone. He was a member of the DAV and
was a dedicated patriot.

Fred was a hard-working man and loved God, his Country, and his family. He
will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

A private funeral service will be held Friday, June 12th , at Walstone Baptist Church, 260 Walstone
Road, Fayetteville. Interment will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park, 6701 Raeford Road, Fayetteville.
