Mrs. Ethel Davis Taylor, 83, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at FirstHeath Hospice House in Pinehurst, NC surrounded by her family. She was a long time resident of Open Arms Retirement Center located in Raeford NC.
Ethel was born in Jamestown NC on March 3.1937 to the late Gough Davis and Essie Cobb Davis. She worked in the textile industry prior to having children and then was a stay at home wife and mother.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Luther Charles (L.C.) Taylor, a sister, Marion Davis Sibley, and two brothers, Truett Davis and Curtis Davis.
She is survived by three children, Linda Rockholt (George) of Raeford NC, David Charles Taylor of Aberdeen NC, and Steven Taylor of Elizabeth City NC, three sisters, Frieda Evans of Stoneville NC, Bessie Ardizzone of Beaverton, Oregon, and Jacqueline Draughon of Fayetteville NC, three brothers, Elray Davis of Fayetteville NC, Richard Davis (Pat) Hope Mills NC, Murl Davis (Martie) of Lumberton NC, five grandchildren, David Charles Taylor Jr. (Sara), Christian Craig, Kevin Craig, Justin Craig, and LeeAnna Craig, and two great grandchildren, Hannah and Cataleya.
The family will receive friends at LaFayette Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM and a funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM officiated by Rev. Tim Gore.
Interment will be at Parkton Cemetery following the funeral service.
The Family would like to extend a wealth of gratitude to Open Arms Retirement Center for their love and care shown to Ethel during her time of residency. She always thought of Open Arms as her home, and developed many lasting relationships while living there.
