Esther Rose (Welch) Mclean

Esther Welch McLean, 79, of Hope Mills died April 17, 2024. She was born in Cumberland County on March 30, 1945 to the late William McDuffie and Lula Reeves Welch. She worked 25 plus year in the textile and manufacturing industries. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and sharing meals with them. A woman of faith, she was a member of Carroll Memorial Baptist Church and cherished her church family. In addition to her parents, William, and Lula Welch she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John B McLean Jr., grandson, Benjamin Kline, and five sisters Ethel Welch, Margaret Jackson, Katie Davis, Mary Sutton, and Ruby Seals. She is survived by her children, Rebecca McLean Futrell and her husband Stanley and Wanda Gail McLean Kline and her husband Paul; grandchildren, William Futrell and his wife, Elizabeth, Amanda Futrell Pham and her husband Calvin, Joshua Kline, and Caleb Kline; great-grandchildren, Jackie Anne Futrell, and Aiden Pham.

A visitation will be held Saturday April 20,2024, at 10AM-11AM at Carroll Memorial Baptist Church 2220 Camden Rd Fayetteville, NC 28306.

Service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM with Reverend James Baker officiating.

Burial will be in Hope Mills Cemetery, 4850 Legion Road, Hope Mills, NC 28348.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in lieu of flowers.
