Mrs. Dorothy Mae Byrd passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 at the age of 71.

Dorothy was born March 8,1950, daughter to the late Byron and Virginia Benson. Mae retired from Purolator after over 30 years as a line inspector. Mae, loved her family very much and would do anything for them. She loved going on trips, yard selling, playing bingo and loved her doggies.

Along with her Parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Wayne, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

She is survived by her son's Tonie Merritt and wife Linda, and Wayne Byrd Jr and wife Liz all of Fayetteville; a daughter Barbara Ammons and husband Everette of Fayetteville; 2 sisters, Esther and Annie, a brother Albert and a host of Family and Friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Lafayette Funeral Home on Wednesday March 24, 2021 at 12:00 Noon for immediate family. Family and Friends are welcome to come at 11am to pay their respects to Mae and the family.

Immediately following the Celebration of Life, a graveside service will be held at Lafayette West.

Family will receive visitors following the services at the Byrd’s home, 4045 Thompson Ave. Fayetteville NC 28304.
