Ms. Doris Ann Hall Smith, 61, passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at her home in Fayetteville, NC.

Doris was born in Beckley, WV on February 13, 1953 to the late Charles and Patricia Toney Hall. Her driver’s license listed her as being 61 but according to Doris she stopped aging sometime around age 49.  Doris has held many interesting jobs throughout her life but her primary occupation since 1977 has been that of "Proud Mother," an occupation at which she excelled.

Doris is survived by her sons Brad and Chris.  Both of whom are decorated combat veterans.  In addition to her sons she is survived by her daughter-in-law Katie and three granddaughters: Emery, Irie, and Arleigh as well as her yorkie, Diego.

Doris was a proud supporter of the Troops and on multiple occasions opened her house up to provide a home cooked meal to Soldiers away from home.  During the first Gulf War she baked over 500 cookies for 50 care packages that she sent to "Any Soldier."

Friends and relatives will remember Doris as a beautiful, intelligent and funny woman.  She could sling remarks and comebacks with the best the Army had to offer.  Doris also had a knack for pulling elaborate practical jokes on her unsuspecting children.  We are sure many of her friends have funny and unique inside jokes they shared with her.

A celebration of her life will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the All American Chapel, Building #C-7242 Ardennes Street, Ft. Bragg, NC with Chaplain (CPT) Jody Harlow officiating.

Following the ceremony there will be a small gathering to share memories of Doris.
