David Rhinehart Mcneely

David Rhinehart McNeely, 80, of Raeford passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in his home.

David was born in Cleveland County, NC on May 23, 1942, son to the late A.R. McNeely and Annie Mae McAbee. David served in the US Army after completing High School. He worked as the manager of Todd’s Tire Service for many years and then as a Cumberland County Sheriff Deputy until his retirement. He was a Little League Baseball Coach, a member of FILI, the Jaycees, a Deacon and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Raeford. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his former wife, Linda Tucker and a son, Phillip McNeely.

David is survived by his wife, Deborah McNeely; a son, David A. McNeely; a daughter, Margo McNeely; step children, Doug Courter Jr., Leslie Thompson and husband Mike, Jared Courter, Timothy Courter and wife Whitney; 5 sisters, Carol Hicks and husband Rodney, Linda Ross and husband Don, Susie Fowler, Debbie Wall and husband Larry, Sharon Schronce and husband Donnie; a brother, Brad McNeely. and 3 grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 AM Friday, September 16, 2022 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 3219 Lindsay Rd. Raeford, NC 28376 with a Service to Celebrate David’s life beginning at 11:00 AM. Pastor Tommy Underwood will be officiating the service.
