James, known to many as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and esteemed member of the military and aviation communities, led a life marked by selfless service and a commitment to excellence. He was the beloved husband of Rachel Castillo, sharing a lifetime of love and companionship. Together, they navigated life's challenges and celebrated its joys.

As a father, James leaves behind a profound impact on the lives of his sons, Sam and Carlos Castillo. His wisdom, guidance, and unconditional love shaped the men they became, reflecting the values instilled by their father.

James took immense pride in his role as a grandfather, finding joy in the laughter and energy of his grandchildren: Ella, Joaquin, Phoebe, and Alexander. He cherished the special moments spent with each of them, creating lasting memories that will endure through generations.

A dedicated brother, James is survived by his siblings, Daniel and Genaro Castillo, and sister Ruth Goble. Their bond was unbreakable, a testament to the strength of family ties that endured the tests of time.
