Captain David William Clark, 30, of Cameron passed away Monday, October 25, 2021.
Captain David Clark was born on August 14, 1991, in Wheaton, IL. to Denise and Jerry Clark. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2014 from Point Loma Nazarene University. David had a host of interests and hobby’s to include tending to his farm full of animals, but his greatest joy was spending time with his wife and twin boys – William David and James Emerson.
While assigned to 3-16 Field Artillery Regiment, he deployed twice to South Korea. After completing the Field Artillery Captain Careers Course, CPT Clark was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) where he served as the Battalion Fires Support Officer and deployed to Syria in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. CPT Clark was a critical asset during the battalion’s deployments and unit annual training events.
CPT Clark’s awards include: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Army Service Ribbon.
CPT Clark is survived by his Wife Rose Louise Clark; Sons, William David and James Emerson Clark of Cameron, NC; Mother, Denise Wolsieffer of Indio, CA; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be 6:00 PM -8:00 PM on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, November 19, 2021 at Manna Church, Anderson Creek, 90 Stone Cross Dr., Spring Lake, NC 28390 with Chaplain (MAJ) Charlie Shields officiating.
Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at 2 p.m. in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd, Fort Bragg, NC 28310.
